News From Your Governor – September 2019

The picnic was a hit! Thanks to all the volunteers who stepped up to make this picnic be a fun time for all. I’m sorry I was not able to help out as much as I wanted to, Doctors’ orders. Next year I’ll be better and I can help out more.

Thanks to Debbie Allen for all the great work she does in booking our bands for your enjoyment. Saturday, September 7th is our Summer Send-Off Party with two bands playing Colby Millea and Lake Effect. Brian Vergenz is cooking the food for us starting at 2 pm. This should be a great ending to our pavilion bands for this year. Next year will be even better.

Brian and Andy Burger will be cooking again for the Oktobeerfest on the 28th. This year Willie Sterba will be joined by the entire band; “Trip”. Will be interesting to see if they all wear lederhosen like Willie, we’ll see. Pavilion opens at noon that day. The State Convention is coming up with the crucial vote on the State becoming one association. The Chapters voted in favor of the merger; now the by-laws of the State and the WOTM must be changed to accept the move. Exciting times are coming for all of us.

Fraternally yours, Mark Schneider.
