Administrator’s Corner – March 2020

This is going to be one busy month. Something is going on almost every weekend. We will be having our annual lodge officer election in April and we have three nomination meetings this month, March 3rd, 17th, and 31st, all meetings will start at 5:30 pm. If you’re interested in running for office for the lodge there are nomination slips out in the front hall. Fill one out and get more involved in the everyday operation of the lodge.

March 5th through the 8th is the annual State Mid-year conference in Green Bay. This is a workshop event with side meetings on all aspects of our great fraternity. If you want to know about the Moose, this is the conference to be at.

March 14th we are having the Kenosha Area Pipes and Drums stopping here for their annual pub crawl. The Lodge will be packed again this year for the event. They are scheduled to stop here at 9:00 pm. We will be having bar food and music by Rockin Russ starting around 5 pm. There will be plenty of raffles and 50/50’s to help raise funds for the fill the boot campaign. Come down early and get your spot and have some fun listening to great Irish music and of course; bagpipes and drums!

March 17th is Saint Patrick’s Day. Our annual dinner will start at 4:30 pm and runs to 7:00 pm. Tickets are $11 for the corn beef and cabbage if you purchase the tickets early, $14 at the door. We will have kid’s meal of a hot dog, chips and dessert for $4, pre-order only. Presold tickets are needed for the first hour, 4:30 pm till 5:30 pm. Everyone else starts at 5:30 pm till 7:00 pm or when the corn beef runs out. So get your tickets now! So we know how much to purchase so we don’t run out.

This month’s kid’s movie will be “Frozen II” on March 20th. As always the movie starts at 5:30 pm sharp. Free popcorn and soda for all the kids.

Kid’s Easter party is early this year on March 21st, the fun starts at noon and goes till 2 pm. Rockin Russ will have his Trivia night on March 21st as well. The fun starts at 7:00 pm. Pub / Grub food will be available for your enjoyment.

March 28th is the Lodge Fun Night starting at 7:00 pm. This is always a fun night and Pub / Grub food will be available.

March 31st the ladies will be having a quarter auction. The event’s doors open at 6:00 pm, auction starts at 7:00 pm.

We have lost one of our most dedicated and fraternal members recently, Tony Jandrowski, the mayor of Friday nights, Mister Lighting raffle and all around great guy. He always had a smile for everyone who came in and loved the Moose almost as much as he loved his lovely wife Sharon and his family. He was our ambassador for all new members and a friend to all. You will never meet a more fraternal member of the Moose. Tony was full of ideas and if you had the time, he was more than happy to tell you all about them. I will miss his great wit, the twinkle in his eye, his scolding if I messed up and his praise when I finally got it right. He was a
mentor of mine and a great friend. I know you’ll always be watching over all of us. Rest in Peace Tony, our lodge is a lesser place without your smile and great fraternal presence.

Fraternally Yours,
Rich Smart, Administrator
