News From Your Senior Regent – August 2019

Well, we’ve made it to August, my how the year is flying by! Soon the holidays will be upon us, but first, one of my favorite Moose traditions, the family picnic! This is an event I have been attending since I was a kid. I remember finding money in the sawdust and all the corn I could eat.

This year we are having a pie & cake fundraiser at the picnic, so we could really use all of your baking talents. Please if you bake consider making one for this great event! The funds will support the projects of the Higher Degrees Committee. Please keep an eye on your email as there maybe an additional fundraiser at the picnic!

International Convention in Las Vegas was a reinvigorating experience. It’s amazing to see what we do as a whole organization in a year. There are some amazing numbers in the reports on-line under the convention link. WOTM gave over $13.2 Million in Community Service donations during the 2018/19 year!

In July we did one of our favorite community service projects by going to cook at the Ronald McDonald House. We had a good sized group for a holiday weekend and some of the guests of the house said we had made one of their favorite meals they had!

I am also excited to announce that the Women of Wisconsin have accepted the Wisconsin Moose Association’s invitation to join, so the bi-laws are currently being rewritten and will be up for vote by the Association in September at the Annual Conference in Fond du Lac.

Congratulations to Dorothy Thompson our Co-Worker Volunteer for the month of August.

See you at the Picnic,

Kellee K. Chwala
