Happy New Year!
Quite a year has come and gone, as we have many firsts for our chapter in 2020. December bustled with our first-ever Santa Drive-thru children’s party which was a huge success giving out gifts and huge SANTA SMILES to 107 children. Many thanks to Jessica Scroggin and Doug Funk for their decoration donations and to all the volunteers that helped wrap and distribute all the gifts and stockings. A HUGE HO! HO! HO! To our Jolly O’ Elf, HAROLD BUCHER, and his happy helpers Liliana and Hannah Matteucci for their happy greeting to each and every child, no matter how chilly the night became!
The Higher Degree Committee had HUGE success with this year’s cookie sale, raising over $2000! Thank you all who donated, boxed, and sold ALL THOSE COOKIES!
Our Community Service Committee held a successful food drive benefiting Shalom Center. Our business meeting was followed by our Christmas celebration and gift exchange, with a fun right left the game for our gift exchange. Thank you to all who helped make all of December’s events a success!
Our Coworker of the Month is Maria Coscia, please congratulate her as you see her around the lodge this month. Thank you Maria for all that you do!
Now we move on to a fresh new year which will, I’m sure will bring more firsts and hopefully a touch of normal back.
In January we start off with WINTERFEST, benefiting Autism! On Saturday, January 23rd join us for an all outdoor, family family fun event! Winterfest will begin at 12 pm, with tons of fun games and activities for children of all ages!
February will take us back in time for a Prohibition Party Dinner Dance on February 27th. Tickets are $25 each. Live music, raffles, and specialty drinks. So break out those ZOOT SUITS and 20’s DRESSES and join us! Tickets on sale starting in January. This event is open to the public, with proceeds benefiting Mooseheart and Moosehaven.
It’s also time to start collecting NEW and gently Used handbags and BLING (jewelry) for our BAGS AND BLING event coming in March. With your generous donations, we are making our goal $1000! Please drop off your donation at the lodge clearly marked for WOTM Bags & Bling. So here’s to a new and exciting year, see you all at the lodge! May the New Year bless you all with health, wealth, and happiness.
Sincerely yours,
Donna Thew – Senior Regent
