November. Yay, it’s a birthday month… a tradition started by my dad, Bruce, a long time LOOM member, who incidentally shares the same day. Happy Birthday, Dad! October was crazy busy with our Halloween Parties and Quarter Auction. Thank you to all who helped plan, donated, volunteered and participated! We can’t do all that we do without you!
This month brings a trip to Orlando for One Moose Town Hall (November 1-3), Member Retention Week (November 3-9), our November 5th, Open Activity Night Meeting where the Higher Degree Committee, will invest Mary Verbeten with her College of Regents Red Stole, more fun Packer Parties and Thanksgiving. Please watch your emails for special events happening Thanksgiving weekend as we kick off the Chris-Moose Season!
The Tree-lighting at Mooseheart is Saturday, December 7th, if you’ve never been, it’s an amazing opportunity to see the campus and meet our kids. If you have been, you know what a beautiful day it is. We typically have a bus or vans to move us around, so the walking is minimal if that is a concern for you. It is a full day, but it’s a lot of fun. Look for the sign-ups on the door in the front corridor.
Speaking of Chris-Moose… the annual Higher Degrees Committee Christmas Cookie Sale will be held on Friday, December 13th. Bakers are needed and Christmas cookies would be appreciated Thursday, December 12th by 4 pm so that there’s time for the boxing! Boxes will be $10 this year, and if you’ve ever had them before, you know it’s more than worth it.
Volunteers are still needed for Bingo on Wednesdays: wiping tables (noonish until done), Bingo Kitchen 4:30- 7/7:30 and floor walking throughout the evening. Also looking for volunteers to help on Pub Grub nights, so we can offer food more often and not over-tax the Horner’s, who are doing an amazing job!
We would like to congratulate Joanne Hamilton, our November Co-worker Volunteer of the month.
I’m so thankful for all of you,
Kellee Chwala, your Senior Regent
